| Biography of Denise Collins
Denise Collins moved to South Florida from New York in the late seventies. Inspired by her father, renowned artist, Charles Mills, she enthusiastically pursued the world of Art. Subsequently, she was introduced to sculpture by her cousin, Edith Humphreys, also an accomplished artist and sculptor.
Denise enjoys sculpting and is deeply and passionately involved in creating clay forms that evolve into modernistic shapes and figures. Presently, she attends night classes at Northeast High School Adult Education. In addition to sculpture, Denise sketches and paints, using acrylics and pastels.
Denise has exhibited at:
- Coral Springs City Centre, Month of June 2000
- Black Expressions Art Exhibit, Broward Sheriff’s Office – January 30 – February 28, 2002
- “IMAGERY,” a Montage of Local Artisians, a Juried Art Exhibit – August 12 –September 15, 2002. Denise won 1st and 3rd place prizes for her entries entitled “The Nurturer” and “Siesta”
